Two Road to the Kentucky Derby prep races are on the 2021 Derby trail schedule the last weekend in January. And as horse racing hits its stride going into 2021, there are numerous other graded stakes races worth watching and betting on.

  • Race 10: $100,000 Sweetest Chant (G3), 3-year-old fillies at 1 mile on turf (Favorites – Con Lima (5-2) and Honey Pants (3-1)
  • Race 11: $200,000 Holy Bull (G3), 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles (Favorites – Greatest Honour (5-2) and Prime Factor (3-1)

Aqueduct

  • Race 4: $150,000 Toboggan (G3), older horses at 7 furlongs (Favorites – Share the Ride (8-5) and Pete’s Play Call (9-5)

Oaklawn Park

  • Race 5: $200,000 Martha Washington (G), 3-year-old fillies at 1 mile (Favorite – Coach (7-5)
  • Race 9: $150,000 American Beauty (G), older fillies and mares at 6 furlongs (Favorites – Frank’s Rockette (2-1) and Amy’s Challenge (3-1)

Santa Anita

  • Race 5: $200,000 San Pasqual (G2), older horses at 1 1/8 miles (Favorite – Idol)
  • Race 7: $100,000 Robert B. Lewis (G2), 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles (Favorite – Medina Spirit)

Sunday, Jan. 31

Sam Houston 

  • Race 5: $100,000 Pulse Power Turf Sprint, older horses at 5 furlongs on turf (Favorites – Fast Boat (7-2) and Share the Upside (4-1)
  • Race 6: $75,000 Stonerside Sprint, older horses at 6 furlongs (Favorites – Nitrous (8-5) and Hollis (5-2)
  • Race 7: $200,000 Texas Turf Mile, 3-year-olds at 1 mile on turf (Favorite – Fighting Force (3-1)
  • Race 8: $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic (G3), older fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles (Favorite – Letruska (1-1)
  • Race 9: $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup (G3), older horses at 1 1/2 miles on turf (Favorites – Spooky Channel (5-2) and Conviction Trade (7-2)

Aqueduct

  • Race 8: $100,000 Jimmy Winkfield (G3), 3-year-olds at 7 furlongs
